ChiTrinh commented on AMQ-8254:
-------------------------------
[~cshannon] , I dont know why [~hnvasa] mentioned about unclean shutdown. We
did not do any shutdown. The way to reproduce is to fill broker disk until like
80% store percent usage, then consumer the message. After all the messages are
gone, the store percent usage is still high ( 10-15%).
> KahaDB index does not shrink on cleaning in-use data files

> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-8254
> Project: ActiveMQ
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: KahaDB
> Affects Versions: 5.15.4
> Reporter: Vasa
> Priority: Major
>
> KahaDB index keeps growing over time which occupies broker disk space.
> The index does not shrink when in-use journal files are cleared after
> messages from the broker are consumed.
> Further, on unclean shutdown of the broker the known free pages are lost and
> no longer tracked. This causes new pages to be created which takes up further
> more disk space.
