The comparison doesn't really hold up though between a project that carries a
protocol level codec and the implementation of the command (and Message)
objects that are used in the server vs a spec jar that carries only an API with
no implementation. Just use semantic versioning and leave yourself room to
grow when things go sideways, which they always do.
