Revisited the paper Mesos: 'A Platform for Fine-Grained Resource Sharing in the
Data Center' by Benjamin Hindman and team.
One of the sections in the paper proposes the MPI and Torque framework for
mesos. Torque cluster resource manager is ported to work as a framework on top
of mesos. This may be certainly considered for further investigation.
