This is implemented currently for User settings.

When a key is generated it has a description. In the backend we have the
created users as well. When they are assigned they will be added in the User
Preferences but will not be visible in UI.
There is a separate JIRA to do the same for Gateway credentials and its with
[~marcuschristie]
