[~mithmatt] this bug has a fix version of trunk with priority minor - any
reason to commit it to branches 2.5 and 2.4?
At least for branch 2.4, there will only be 3rd digit maintenance releases.
This appears to be a reasonably large feature.
Also if it ever needs to be back-ported from trunk, I would suggest completing
the feature in trunk and then back-porting it - I am commenting based on the
fact that the description says "Add initial code for ...".
