Tried adding hive.exec.dynamic.partition.mode=nonstrict in hive view setting.
But that is not working.
I verified the setting by running query "set hive.exec.dynamic.partition.mode"
and it doesn't show updated value.
Details of what I was trying to do -
I ran following query -
insert into store_sales2 PARTITION (sale_date) select dob, 1, 1, 1 from
student_table
It failed with -
Caused by: java.lang.RuntimeException:
org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.parse.SemanticException:Dynamic partition strict mode
requires at least one static partition column. To turn this off set
hive.exec.dynamic.partition.mode=nonstrict
Then I added above settings and tried running query, it still fails with same
error. So I tried running "set hive.exec.dynamic.partition.mode" to verify the
setting, and it wasn't updated.
