Same problem here. Upgrade from HDP 2.5 to 2.6 worked, but I can't install
Druid as still the old services and versions are shown. Ubuntu 14 and 16 on a
8-node cluster. HDP 2.5 is also marked as "legacy" in database, but I can't
deregister the version in Ambari.

> Ambari Web UI (http://<server>:8080/#/main/admin/stack/services) shows old
> service versions after upgrade

> After successfully upgrading from HDP 2.6.0.3 to HDP 2.6.4, the Ambari Web UI
> (http://<server>:8080/#/main/admin/stack/services) shows old service versions
> after upgrade (see attachment).
>
> GET
> http://<server>:8080/api/v1/stacks/HDP/versions/2.6/compatible_repository_versions?fields=*,repo_id,repo_name,stack_version
> Shows two compatible repos after the upgrade, and I'm suspecting that Ambari
> Web UI is showing old information due to a display bug. Since I'm not sure
> about the storage solution wherein ambari-server is searching for this
> information I did not want to mess up with any configurations. I inspected
> the ambari server database and [repo_version table], several xml files in
> /var/lib/ambari-server/resources, and the ambari github project, but did not
> arrive to any conclusion on the cause of this issue.
>
> I did manually delete the repos for the old version using the Ambari Web UI
> ([http://<server>:8080/views/ADMIN_VIEW/2.6.1.3/INSTANCE/#/stackVersions/HDP/2.6.0.3-8/edit)|http://node5.dsi.uminho.pt:8080/views/ADMIN_VIEW/2.6.1.3/INSTANCE/#/stackVersions/HDP/2.6.0.3-8/edit)]
>  and when I tried to install Druid 0.10.1 (the one in the new stack version)
> it did in fact install the new Druid version. However, I did not try to
> install any service before manually deleting the old repos using the Ambari
> Web UI, and therefore I do not know if without this change Ambari would
> install the old version.
>
> I hope I can help with this information, and hopefully you can help me also.
