I believe this should be applicable in 1.3.5 - have you tried and had a problem?
BTW, we decided in the latest release to instead remove XMLRPC support, as we
now have a complete replacement in REST. That won't impact 1.3.5, but may be
worth keeping in mind for looking to future releases.
