There are currently many ways of extending ARIA code - via the extension
mechanism, by writing custom plugins/workflows, by writing different
components/profiles, extending models, etc.
It should be made clearer what's the right way to achieve each type of
extension, and deduplicate similar mechanisms; Furthermore, it should be
documented how one can contribute to the {{extensions}} package (and whether
it's indeed a package or rather a directory containing many packages), where
should tests for such a contribution go under, etc.
