Benjamin Staffin commented on AURORA-951:
-----------------------------------------
It looks like the debian/ directory just got moved to
build-support/packaging/debian/, so first you'll have to copy (or maybe
symlink) that back to the top of the repo. From there it should act like a
normal debian source package, for the most part, so the README I wrote for my
initial version still applies:
https://github.com/benley/aurora/blob/debian/trusty/README.md
Basically you want to run dpkg-buildpackage in a clean copy of the source, on a
system with the build dependencies satisfied. It's usually best to that on the
same distro where you intend to use the packages. All the fancy tools like
pbuilder, cowbuilder, and git-buildpackage automate that stuff with chroots and
cleverness.
The gradle-2.5 deb is something you can easily build using
https://github.com/benley/gradle-packaging after setting VERSION=2.5 in
{{gradle-mkdeb.sh}}. I'm not sure why I didn't just put all that in the
makefile, but at least it's simple.

> It would be very nice to have prebuilt and easily rebuildable .deb packages
