The previous patch doesn't apply cleanly at all due to some significant
refactoring. I don't have a great local environment setup for working on this
so I've done my best to move the patch to the appropriate place in
{{CommandLineDriverSettingsModule}}. I'll probably know tomorrow if this
actually works.
I don't think I'm well suited (never having touched this project before) to
handle the whole deprecation/documentation/flag dance described above without
significant hand-holding.
