Work Description: lgajowy commented on issue #7238: [BEAM-6201] Data
insertion pipeline
URL: https://github.com/apache/beam/pull/7238#issuecomment-445861153

I'm aware of https://github.com/apache/beam/pull/6637/ that adds a periodic,
streaming impulse source. However, this is Flink only solution (at least for
now).

Until we have a generic solution for streaming sources that works on
portable pipelines we can use the Data Insertion Pipeline if we have no other
options. WDYT?

> We can provide a special pipeline that simply writes synthetic data to a
> PubSub topic. Then this data can be read from a subscription in a streaming
> test (eg. in python SDK tests or others).
