I'd like to take this up.
Since the Java SDK calls it Distinct and not RemoveDuplicates, I think it would
be consistent to rename RemoveDuplicates to Distinct and have an alias
RemoveDuplicates for the new Distinct pTransform, to maintain backwards
compatibilty.
