Giving the lack of consensus on the API that in the last comments, I
strongly suggest we don't rush with including the change in the next release,
temporarily roll it back , and discuss the options to proceed on dev@ within a
doc. I filed https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEAM-12810 to track the
rollback.
