   LGTM, though I do like the idea of @TheNeuralBit in terms of risk 
management, particularly considering you've recently found a bug causing data 
loss in that area @aromanenko-dev. 
   If allowing users to opt-out it might be good to be rather noisy about the 
fact that this is deprecated & enabling a legacy mode that will be removed soon.
