@kanterov I believe actually that the bug is in your test. You have:
Schema outputSchema = SelectHelpers.getOutputSchema(f3,
fieldAccessDescriptor);
when it should be
Schema outputSchema = SelectHelpers.getOutputSchema(f4,
fieldAccessDescriptor);
When I fix this, the test now passes.
