Fantastic. Thanks. I attended [~wesmckinn] 's talk at Spark Summit East this
year. But there was a crowd and I did not manage to get to him. I think
[~julienledem] was involved in JavaFastPFor-Parquet? I am pretty sure I do not
know Jacques.
My plan is to look at whether there are interesting performance issues within
Arrow (starting early next year). I have done a fair amount of SIMD,
compression, indexing work as of late, for example.

> Submit an overview paper, with survey, architecture description, and some
> benchmark components to SIGMOD Record or VLDB Journal.
> SIGMOD Record:
> VLDB Journal:
> I will take a lead on this, create an Overleaf document, and invite all

> Target for completion on this is Jan-Feb 2018, with 3000-4000 words. We
> could also target on of the big conferences, and also look to submit extended

> over both on their advice on this.
