I do find linking to the commit for each release to be useful. However, looking 
at the download pages for some recently approved release announcements, there 
aren't any links to source repos:

- [http://bahir.apache.org/downloads/flink/]

- [https://hbase.apache.org/downloads.html]

I think a disclaimer might work, but is there anyone we can ask to confirm? 
This would save a lot of back-and-forth with the announce list moderators (the 
new avatica announcement still hasn't been published, but I didn't get a 
rejection yet).
