Julian Hyde commented on CALCITE-3014:
--------------------------------------

[~zabetak] Thanks. Exactly what I was going to say. Except that I tend to
ignore issues where people tag me.

[~hhlai1990] ThreadLocal won't work if we are preparing a query that joins a
MySQL data source to a PostgreSQL data source.

Conformance was added to RexToLixTranslator in CALCITE-2571. I didn't like it
at the time. Can we back that out?

> [~julianhyde]  I found SqlConformanceEnum is hard coded in a few places.

> I think it's not easy to fix them in a generic way.  To support different
> SQL compatibility modes well, many place of current codebase is possible to
> be modified.
> It will `drill a hole` to pass the SqlConformance config in the whole process
> of  one sql query.
> May be we can put the SqlConformance config in ThreadLocal, avoiding pass it
> frequently.
