Yes, I agree with your observations. Since my requirement is rare (to solve a
problem, I wanna try MULTI_FUNCTION mapping type to see whether it can serve my
purpose, so I found that it is not implemented at all), maybe it is not worth
refactoring, given that the other mapping types are rarely used.
