The summary is too strongly worded. It should be "JDBC adapter sometimes adds 
unnecessary parentheses around SELECT in INSERT".

In the statement "insert into t (select * from t1 union select * from t2) 
intersect select * from t3" the parentheses are required, and you should add it 
as a test case.
