[~jensen] , sorry a bit of nitpicking: IMO this ticket's type should be a
"task" or maybe an "improvement", definitely not a "bug".
Also, per our [contributing
guidelines|https://calcite.apache.org/develop/#contributing] the Jira title
(and therefore the commit message) should:
bq.Use imperative mood ("Add […]") rather than past tense ("Added […]")
