Julian Hyde commented on CALCITE-805:
-------------------------------------
Larger projects such as Drill or Hive or Kylin have a weekly triage and assign
issues to developers. But I don't have any resources at my disposal (besides
myself) to fix bugs and if I ask for volunteers to fix bugs there is a
resounding silence. (Search the dev archive for the number of times I have
appealed for someone to fix CALCITE-687.)
Everyone has their own agenda -- and that's fine. But we only really know
what's in a release when the release is made. The implied commitment of
assigning a fixVersion would just be misleading.

> I'm looking at adding some new functionality using curly brackets in Calcite.
> However, the grammar for brackets is too rigid. This is a task to improve
> the extensibility of the curly bracket definition in the SQL grammar.
