it regularly fails build on CI (failed 2 out the last 5 builds). it seems
somethign which happens regularly since several years

It sounds an issue with the infrastructure.
Are there ways to access the mentioned files on Jenkins to check their content?
It might help on investigation to detect what is the root issue.
i suspect that one file was badly downloaded and contains completely unrelated
content. This could help report back to correct infra problem.
