Cameron Fitzwater commented on CAMEL-22695:
-------------------------------------------

Is it not possible to backport further since functionality was broke/lost? I
suppose the workaround is committing some lines into application.properties to
force-enable?

Since we use quarkus, the latest version we could even use appears to be 4.15..?
camel run * --fresh --runtime=quarkus --quarkus-version=3.20.1 --observe

    4.14.0       3.27.0    17,21   LTS  September 2025      August 2026    57
    4.14.2       3.27.1
    4.15.0       3.29.0    17,21          October 2025                     22

> When running a {{camel run}} or {{{}camel export{}}}, if you have an
> application.properties file, it is no longer auto-enabling metrics when
> having the {{--observe}} flag (it is completely ignored).
> We use this {{--observe}} flag in our pipeline, and even with jbang and camel
> pinned to version, the same behavior is happening.
> This behavior changed recently, and I believe impacted all 4.X, per some
> local testing.
