Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-25989:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-saxon - the xquery consumer fails on every poll:
the endpoint should be producer-only
Key: CAMEL-25989
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25989
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Bug
Components: camel-saxon
Affects Versions: 4.18.0, 4.22.0, 4.23.0
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
Fix For: 4.24.0
The xquery endpoint is not producer-only ({{XQueryEndpoint}}, main
e6885df7894d, lines 43-45, it extends ProcessorEndpoint), so
{{from("xquery:...")}} creates a scheduled poll consumer that runs the query on
a new exchange with no body on each poll. The query needs a context item, so
every poll fails and nothing reaches the route. If the source is set to
something that exists without a message, the poll does not end: receiveNoWait
never returns null. No test or example uses an xquery consumer. The other
ProcessorEndpoint subclasses (xslt, stax, dfdl, log) are producer-only.
Checked on 4.24.0-SNAPSHOT with {{camel run}}: {{from:
xquery:file:q.xquery?delay=1000}} logs "Failed polling endpoint" on every poll,
and the route gets no message.
*Proposed change*: mark the endpoint {{producerOnly = true}}, and note it in
the upgrade guide, as the consumer options leave the catalog and the docs.
