Claus Ibsen commented on CAMEL-26295:
-------------------------------------

Fixed on main in https://github.com/apache/camel/commit/68600099ae46:
YamlValidator.validateRoutes, and the source editor runs it as a file opens and
while typing. The schema errors still wait for the save.

> camel-jbang - the source editor checks the message body of a YAML route only

> The source editor of the Camel CLI marks the problems of a YAML route as soon
> as the file opens and while you type: endpoint URIs and options, Simple
> expressions and Kamelets (SourceChecks.check). The checks of the full YAML
> validator, which include following the message body through the steps of a
> route with the body types of the catalog (TextBodyFlow and BodyTypeFlow,
> CAMEL-24844), run only when the file is saved (checkOnSave).
> So a route such as from file, unmarshal json, to file shows no problem when
> it is opened or edited. Only when it is saved, the save is refused and the to
> line is marked: "to: file needs the body as text, bytes, a stream or a file,
> but the body here is parsed data (a Map or a List), not text - unmarshal:
> json turns the text into data: add marshal: json before this step" (the
> screenshot camel-tui-source-body-type-problem.png of the Message Body Types
> page, CAMEL-25928).
> Run the body checks of the validator as the file opens and while you type
> too, with the other checks, so the problem shows where it is made. The full
> validator is slower than the line checks, so it may need to run after a pause
> in typing, or in the background.
