Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-26429:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-jbang - A CLI command that turns the logging off
configures log4j only when something logs
Key: CAMEL-26429
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-26429
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: camel-jbang
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
Assignee: Claus Ibsen
Fix For: 4.24.0
Most commands of the CLI turn the logging off when they start
({{CamelCommand.configureLoggingOff()}}), which configures log4j
({{RuntimeUtil.configureLog("off", ...)}}): about 215 ms in a new JVM, of which
about 40 ms registers the MBeans of log4j. Most commands never log, such as
{{camel version}}, {{camel ps}} or {{camel config list}}: without the
configuration they take about 150 ms instead of about 325 ms.
With the logging off, log4j can configure itself when something first logs,
with the logging off, instead of when the command starts.
Found while measuring the startup for CAMEL-23810.
