{noformat}That doesn't appear to be the case with simple, which is why I 
created this JIRA.

Example:

<filter><simple>${body} == {{version}}</simple>

The error on start-up is:

Could not resolve placeholder 'body' in string value "${body} == 1

In other words, the context never starts.

Using ${properties:version} fixes this.{noformat}
