Daniel Pocock commented on CAMEL-8342:
--------------------------------------

The component is fairly trivial so the only unit test that I could make would
either test the configuration object or send a metric.

I was thinking about making a unit test that binds to a socket and then listens
for the metric packets sent by the test and compares them to a byte array. Is
it considered OK to include unit tests that use a socket like this? Is there
an example of any other component doing this that I should refer to? I'll
probably get onto this next week.
