I guess the patch is no longer applicable. We are waiting for
[~anbumani.balusamy] patch on https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-9467
The new patch should have pure Java producer and consumer from Kafka 0.9.0.0
[~lb] too was interested in implementing this.
