Qaiser Abbasi commented on CAMEL-11615:
---------------------------------------

Thanks for the nice writeup of the underlying issue. If there's no one already
working on this issue I'd would willingly try to help here. Likewise it would
be helpful if you could roughly point to interesting parts of the processing
which I could then examine.

Food for thought:
Idk if it's a misuse or overkill: maybe we could notify the final processing
component (i.e. code where the subscribe method is defined) via Spring
application events that everything is "hooked up"?

> In https://github.com/qabbasi/reactive-camel-demo I'm using the
> camel-reactive-streams-starter project to create a application based on
> RxJava2. Currently I'm getting a NPE during runtime.
> I also tried to test the sample route inside
> https://github.com/apache/camel/tree/master/examples/camel-example-reactive-streams,
> but unfortunately this also results in the same exception:
> java.lang.NullPointerException: null
