[~davsclaus] If it's quoted it's considered a string in yaml. So this is ok:

dataformat:
json-jackson:
object-mapper: "#jacksonObjectMapper"

and it also shouldn't be a problem in a "properties" file

camel.dataformat.json-jackson.object-mapper=#jacksonObjectMapper
