Dominic Blais created CLOUDSTACK-4050:
-----------------------------------------

Summary: Notification from management node "Redundant virtual
router (name: r-X-VM, id: X) just switch from UNKNOWN to MASTER"
                 Key: CLOUDSTACK-4050
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-4050
             Project: CloudStack
          Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
    Affects Versions: 4.1.0
Environment: Ubuntu 12.04 Server on compute nodes and management node
            Reporter: Dominic Blais

>From time to time, sometimes multiple per hour, I receive emails from the
>management node telling me "Redundant virtual router (name: r-X-VM, id: X)
>just switch from UNKNOWN to MASTER" where X is the VR ID.

- I first checked if I lost packets and I didn't.
- I looked into /ramdisk/rrouter/keepalived.log and found no logs showing up
when I was receiving notifications. It only add logs when there's a real
problem or when I reboot/shutdown the MASTER server.

So, I don't think it's a VR/RVR problem... It looks like the management node
can't get the status on time and sends an email each time it happens.
