Please find my comments on this change request to privide detailed dialog box
for switch type, switch name & vlanid.
1) All 3 fields of this dialog box are applicable only to guest & public
traffic types. For management & storage traffic only 2 fields (vSwitch Name &
VLAN ID) are applicable.
2) Better to change label name of 1st text field from "VMware Traffic Label" to
"Name of vSwitch"
3) In list box, it's better to expand the type of vSwitch just like we do in
addcluster dialog box. Good to use longer and more descriptive text (like
VMware Standard Virtual Switch instead of mentioning shorter form like 'VMware
SVS')
4) Prefill the default values for 1st text field and list box.
4.a) Default vswitch type to be prefilled in list box can be understood by
reading the global configuration settings "vmware.use.dvswitch" &
"vmware.use.nexus.vswitch" from cloud.configuration table. If none of these 2
params is true then default vswitch type is standard vswitch. If
"vmware.use.dvswitch" only is true and "vmware.use.nexus.vswitch" is false then
default vswitch type is vmware dvswitch, and if both these parameters are true
then the default vswitch type is nexus dvswitch.
4.b) Prefill name of vswitch in 1st text field. This prefill value comes from
default vswitch type. The default vswitch name is "vSwitch0" for standard
vswitch. The default vswitch name is "dvSwitch0" for vmware dvswitch. The
default vswitch name is "epp0" for nexus dvswitch.
