[~nitinme] thanks for commenting, for what it is worth if it makes code robust
if possible please see if you can cherry-pick this on 4.5? I tried to
cherry-pick this but it failed with a conflict in one of the files. Since, I
don't know anything around that part of codebase I aborted the cherry-pick. I
think it won't be a lot of effort on your end to cherry-pick and fix the
conflict since you know the code.
