Paul Angus commented on CLOUDSTACK-4787:
----------------------------------------

using RC1, I have tried to update a template

(local) 🐵 > update template id=dfbec9f7-848b-11e5-b330-06e54c000ca7
details='details[0].rootDiskController=lsilogicsas'
Error 431: Unable to execute API command updatetemplate due to invalid value
details[0].rootDiskController=lsilogicsas for parameter details

and create a new template

(local) 🐵 > register template hypervisor=VMware ispublic=true name=scsi
displaytext=scsi details='details[0].rootDiskController=lsilogicsas'
url=http://10.0.1.10/Bootcamps/XenServer.ova
zoneid=3c17fc51-d477-4288-9917-8b7d76486ee9
ostypeid=dfef9a6f-848b-11e5-b330-06e54c000ca7 format=ova
Error 431: Unable to execute API command registertemplate due to invalid value
details[0].rootDiskController=lsilogicsas for parameter details

Neither worked for me:

Error 431: Unable to execute API command updatetemplate due to invalid value
details[0].rootDiskController=lsilogicsas for parameter details

> When adding an OVA template for a vSphere environment allow the selection of
> the scsi controller type.
> Currently the instances are deployed with the the LSI Parallel controller
> type. This results in a blue screen on boot when attempting to deploy
> templates that use the LSI SAS controller.
