Wei Zhou commented on CLOUDSTACK-8842:
--------------------------------------
[[email protected]] It looks the upgrade is not possible because libvirt/qemu
have some package dependencies. For example, we cannot install libvirt/qemu for
Ubuntu 14.04 on Ubuntu 12.04. Maybe the only solution is upgrading the
hypervisor to Ubuntu 14.04 which means a lot of work. The good news is that the
live migration from Ubuntu 12.04 /QEMU 1.0 to Ubuntu 14.04 /QEMU 2.0 is
supported by QEMU 2.0.0.
> Drop Ubuntu 12.04 LTS support

> Ubuntu 12.04 is still a Long Term Support (LTS), but the Qemu, libvirt and
> Java are getting old:
> * Qemu: 1.0
> * libvirt: 0.9.2
> * java: 1.6 and 1.7
> Qemu and libvirt are the main problem here. So I propose that at 4.7 or 5.0
> we drop Ubuntu 12.04 support.
