I'm not competent to judge if it should be committed or not.
It's nothing to do with the removal of deprecated test classes, so should be in
a separate JIRA please.
Otherwise the changes become too difficult to follow.
Also, it would be helpful to have a test case which exposes the faulty
behaviour.
