If you know that the issue exists _only_ on an Android OS, that's worth
mentioning in the issue's description!
If so, it's out of my league...
I've tested both the latest release (1.21) and the latest "trunk", and no
exception is thrown.
Could there be a file size limit on the Android device's filesystem? This,
combined with stricter checks in Compress v1.21, could generate the reported
symptoms.
You could perhaps copy a large file with real content (i.e. not zeroes) to your
device and ensure that it is not truncated.
