Thanks for pointing out "113 bits vs 106 bits".
Perhaps the link to the "quadruple-precision" article would be useful in the 
Javadoc as a "caveat".

It's great that "Commons Numbers" provides higher-precision so that users don't 
have to worry about the implementation and just try out whether it helps with 
their actual application. :-)
Would it make sense to create a new "field" module in "Commons Math" whose 
scope would be implementations of miscellaneous algorithms based on the "Field" 
interface?  A low-priority "new feature" that could be (?) an interesting first 
task for a would-be contributor...
