Hi @garydgregory,
This PR would benefit from an upgrade to Commons IO, so here’s the plan:
* Marking this PR as **draft** for now.
* I’ll split out two sub-PRs:
* one for the common builder (to take advantage of the new `getChannel`
method),
* and another introducing a `TruncatedArchiveException`.
* Once that’s done, I’ll retarget this PR against the `commons_io_2_21_0`
branch.
