Gary D. Gregory commented on IMAGING-382:
-----------------------------------------

There are some internal cleaning up to do as well as an API review.

Once 1.0.0 is released we don't want to break binary compatibility, so care
must be taken.

If you need the current git code you can use a snapshot build. Or, I can create
another alpha release soon.

There is no hard release schedule.

> The Apache Imaging library had three alpha versions in the last two years and
> I would like to query the future of the library and when it may become
> generally available:
> 1.0.0-alpha6    2025-04-27
> 1.0.0-alpha5    2024-04-15
> 1.0.0-alpha4    2024-03-30
> As we want to incorporate the ImageIO library into our software for replacing
> the unmaintained Java Advanced Imaging JAR, we would like to proceed so once
> the library reached a non-alpha and is ready for GA (General availability).
> Could the authors/owners of [Commons – Apache Commons
> Imaging|https://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-imaging/index.html]
> indicate what the prospective plan is when in the future the GA release of
> the Imaging library will be provided?
