Using ':' as key separator is actually not really defined. It's not supported
by Windows and is based on extensions other companies/people made. Therefore I
can understand that the current implementation gives '=' more precedence.
However, you should be able to quote the value:
{noformat}
password: "abc=123:D"
{noformat}
Nevertheless, the implementation could be smarter in this case, since spaces
are not allowed in the key and it could look for the separator character in the
first character sequence containing no spaces.
