Indeed there will be a design inconsistency in having {{RealLinearOperator}} an
abstract class while {{RealMatrix}} is an interface, but it seems that it is
preferable (for the sake of avoiding future compatibility problems) to try not
to use interfaces...
Having {{RealLinearOperator}} as an abstract class will make it impossible that
the current {{RealMatrix}} (an interface) can extend it.
We could maybe turn {{RealMatrix}} into an abstract class, but that's for
another issue...
The package "linear" seems appropriate for the code you are proposing.
