Ralph Goers commented on VFS-304:
---------------------------------
The question of performance would depend on what you are trying to use the
framework for. The back and forth chatter could be an issue. That said, I don't
use any of the FTP variations myself as I'm not a huge fan of the protocol
except when doing it by hand. If you look through Jira you will also see that a
significant number of the issues are reported against them, which either means
they are the most popular protocols or they just tend to have the most problems.
I suppose adding configuration to the ConfigBuilder would be one way to handle
this.
I hate to ask this but is it possible you could rework the code against the
current source? I could figure it out but I'm afraid I may not get it quite
right.
> Using VFS with Alfresco FTP does not work.

> It seems Alfresco's FTP implementation does not allow for compound paths but
> only works from the current directory. This requires some methods in
> FtpClientWrapper to be modified.
