It was relatively easy to extend XML-based definition of rules in the previous
versions of the Digester. At least it was possible in version 1.8 through
inheritance of the org.apache.commons.digester.xmlrules.DigesterRuleParser
(custom parser was able to set customized DTD and to add rules matching custom
elements).
It's no longer possible in version 3.2 since
org.apache.commons.digester3.xmlrules.XmlRulesModule is package private and
final.
Is it possible to make XmlRulesModule more "extension friendly"?
