Claudio Nieder commented on IMAGING-103:
----------------------------------------

Also I notice several links are dead. E.g. while the download link in the left
sidebar points to the working page
http://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-imaging/download_sanselan.cgi the
"Download latest release" link on the page itself points to the non-existing
location http://commons.apache.org/sanselan/download_sanselan.cgi

The same is true for the Javadoc and the "Sanselan class" link on this page.
Though the Javadoc link in the sidebar is broken too.

Furthermore the project status page
http://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-imaging/history.html does not have any
information on versions newer than 0.90.

The justification page
http://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-imaging/justification.html has a
broken link to the "Apache Software License" and to libungif while the page
mentioned on the top which is supposed to list other imaging libraries now just
tells user to go back to Apache.

On the References page
http://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-imaging/references.html the first and
fourth link are dead.

On the Sample Images page
http://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-imaging/sampleimages.html the
RAWpository link points to a page which I wonder if it is the intended one.

> Update Commons Imaging web page to represent current state of project
> ---------------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: IMAGING-103
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMAGING-103
> Project: Commons Imaging
> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: Gary Lucas
>
> I recommend that the project update the Commons Imaging web page to better
> represent the project. I believe that currently it might discourage
> developers who would otherwise be interested in using Commons Imaging.
> Not only does the current text still refer to "Sanselan" but it also gives
> the impression that the code base hasn't been updated since 2009. Also, I
> would like to see the phrase "It's slow, consequently, but perfectly
> portable" removed since the project has made considerable improvements in
> performance over the last couple of years.
> Finally, I'd like to see some of the links to the Issue Tracker and so forth
> updated to point at the right place.
