I don't disagree that the new URLs are unfriendly.
However, if nobody is or will be picking this, fix it or provide patches then
it might be better to close such issues than having them stay open forever.
Especially for cases like these, where it involves changing public URLs.
If you wait too long, everyone will have 'fixed' their links and references to
the 'status-quo' anyway.
