Dieter Van de Walle commented on DAEMON-259:
--------------------------------------------
This a pretty big issue...
The whole point of JSVC is to offer a reliable way to manage a Java application
as a service.
But now I find out I cannot use JSVC without restarting it to get it to write
to a new logfile? (or create some crappy solution using named pipes and logging
scripts ...)
This really sucks...
Improvement my ass, this is a defect.

> we update to the latest commons-daemon-1.0.10, but randomly log files are not
> rotated to be more precise the rotated file created but jsvc still log into
> the old log file and the new one will be 0 length forever.
> what is the proper way, ie: how should have to look like the logrotate file
> for the jsvc log files?
> thanks in advance.
